CLASS LEVELS
We colour-code our classes to make it easy to find the right level. The colours appear in the class calendar and class overview, so you can quickly see which classes suit you. To join an Improver class, we recommend completing at least one full beginner course. Many people take the same level more than once, as there are always new techniques and details to learn. If you’re unsure which level is right for you, ask our instructors.
Beginner
For those who have never danced salsa or bachata before, or who would like to revisit the basic steps and techniques. No previous experience is needed.
Improver
For those who have completed at least one beginner course and are comfortable with the basic steps. We build on fundamental technique, rhythm, leading and following, and introduce new combinations.
Intermediate
For those with a solid grasp of basic technique who can dance independently at social dances. The class covers more advanced combinations, musicality, flow and technical details.
Advanced
For experienced dancers with a strong command of technique, rhythm and more complex combinations. Focus on advanced partner work, musicality, styling, precision and challenging moves.
Open Level
A class or workshop open to a range of skill levels. The instructor adapts the teaching where possible. Any prerequisites will be listed in the individual class description.
